FAQs
Frequently asked questions
Unsure about how we work? We have gathered the most common questions for your convenience.
We’ll help prepare changes to your Templated Franchise Agreement and Disclosure Document. This package includes:
- Amending your Templated Franchise Agreement and Disclosure Document as required by the changes to the Franchising Code of Conduct adopted on 9 December 2024 and introduced on 1 April 2025.
- Phone consultations of up to 30 minutes with a Sprintlaw lawyer, who will explain the changes to the Franchising Code of Conduct and answer your questions about the documents.
Please note this project is limited to incorporating the changes to the Franchising Code of Conduct adopted on 9 December 2024 and introduced on 1 April 2025 into your Templated Franchise Agreement and Disclosure Document, where those documents were drafted by Sprintlaw. If your Franchise Documents have not been updated since before June 2021, were not drafted by Sprintlaw, or have since been amended by you, additional fees will apply.
If you need help with a new Franchise Grant, or with amending or negotiating other legal or commercial terms of your Templated Franchise Agreement, Existing Franchise Agreement, or Disclosure Document, we can provide a quote for our Contract Amendment Package, Franchise Grant Package, or Disclosure Document Update package, as required. Additional fees will apply.
Click the ‘get started’ button on our website and submit an enquiry. After you submit your enquiry, one of our legal consultants will review it within 1 business day and get in touch to better understand what you’re looking for.
Your legal consultant will then send you an email with more information about the services you need, along with a fixed-fee quote setting out the costs, scope of the service, and timing. If you’re happy with the scope, you can accept and sign our engagement letter online.
Once you’ve formally accepted, we’ll connect you with a specialist lawyer who will work with you to complete your project. They’ll contact you by email or phone if needed. You can find more information about how we work here.
Unlike traditional law firms, everything we do is on a fixed-fee basis. This means you’ll know the total cost of your legal bill from the start.
Once you’ve accepted and signed our engagement letter, we’ll send through the payment details. Please note that we take full payment upfront into our trust account.
As set out in our engagement letter, your money will be held in our trust account until we’ve completed the scope of your project. To make sure your money is handled properly, we follow the rules and guidelines set by the Law Society of NSW for handling trust money. More information about trust accounts can be found here.
Once you’ve accepted our engagement and paid the fees into our trust account, we’ll allocate a lawyer to your legal project. Your lawyer will contact you by email and let you know if they need anything from you.
If you don’t hear from them straight away, don’t worry. It usually means they’re finishing other projects and will contact you as soon as they can. Once your lawyer starts on your project, they’ll keep you updated on the estimated delivery time and let you know if they need any information from you.
Please also note that our lawyers generally don’t take unscheduled calls, as this helps keep things running efficiently. If a call is needed to complete your job, your lawyer will send you a link to our online call booking system. Please use this link whenever you need to speak with your lawyer.
If you have urgent questions or would like to follow up, you can email or call your legal consultant. They can provide an update on your project and pass on a message to your lawyer if needed.
Generally, it takes us 1–2 weeks to complete a legal project. However, this can vary depending on how busy we are, any unforeseen complexities with your project, and your availability for calls or to provide the information we need.
We’ll give you an estimated delivery time once we get started, and we’ll keep you updated if that timing is likely to change during the project.
