The Australian Foreign Investment Review Board (FIRB) is a non-statutory body set up to monitor foreign investments in Australia. You can find more information about how FIRB operates on their website (https://firb.gov.au/).
If overseas investors are involved in your business, you may need to lodge an application with FIRB before the investment can proceed. This can be a complicated process, so it’s best to get legal advice on whether an application to FIRB is needed for your business’s particular situation.
